Durex: condoms and lubricants, over 90 years of expertise

Durex was founded in 1915. Its founder, LA Jackson, founded the London Rubber Company and sold condoms as well as imported accessories for hairdressers.

In 1929, the company became the brand we all know today: DUREX.

The name comes from a contraction of different words that are supposed to represent the three main qualities of a condom:

REliability
EXcellence(excellence)
